  • 1/2 cup white onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 kg dressed chicken
  • 1/4 cup ginger, cut into strips
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 cup green papaya, sliced diagonally
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup chili leaves

Chicken Tinola Recipe

  1. Preheat cooking pot with cooking oil.
  2. At medium heat, sauté chicken in onion and garlic until chicken parts are light brown on all sides.
  3. Add the fish sauce and the ginger. Cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Cook for 2 more minutes then add the papaya.
  5. Cook for another 2 minutes then add the water, turn up heat to high, put lid on, and leave to boil.
  6. Let 2 minutes of boiling then turn down heat to low. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Add the chili leaves then simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Turn off heat and serve hot with rice. Enjoy!
